The 2017 ACT Senior Mens and Womens Championship will be held from 14th to Thursday 16th November. It will be a 54 hole stroke competition held at Queanbeyan, Gold Creek and Federal.

It is a Senior Order of Merit event open to all golfers over 55 years of age with a GA handicap. The maximum handicaps are 18.0 for men & 25.0 for women (as at 14 November 2017).

The cost of entry is $150 (if entered online) or $160 for manual entry (including GST). The entry fee will also cover the presentation meal after final round.

CONDITIONS FOR ACT SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017

1) This event is open to all amateur men and women golfers over the age of 55 years (on 14/11/2017) who are members of any golf club affiliated with Golf Australia (GA), with a maximum GA handicap of 18.0 for men and 25.0 for women.

2) The entry fee must be paid at the time of entry and includes three rounds of golf and lunch after the final round.

3) The competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as adopted by R&A Rules Ltd., together with such local rules as are in force on the courses being played. Although this event is not being run by Golf NSW, it does form part of the Senior Order of Merit Program, so players should abide by the Golf NSW Standard Conditions of Play and Code of Conduct as published on www.golfnsw.org.

4) The Championship will comprise stroke play over three rounds of 18 holes. The courses being used are the Queanbeyan Golf Club, the Gold Creek Country Club and Federal Golf Club. The entire field is expected to contest all three rounds and must play as drawn. The leading male and female player at the end of this stroke play shall be deemed the Male and Female ACT Senior Champions for 2017. As recommended by GOLFNSW, ties in ALL divisions will be decided using the GA standard count back method.

5) The Championship Play Committee (CPC) will comprise the Captain of the ACT-Monaro DGA and the Captain of the CSGA, or their appointees. The CPC has complete control of this event and reserves the right to vary conditions should it be deemed necessary. Decisions made by the CPC shall be final.

6) Competitors must report to the Starting Officials at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled hit-off times. Failure to do so may result in a two shot penalty or disqualification. Day 1 tee times are likely to be from 9:00am, other days 8:00am.

7) Motorised transport is permitted. The CPC takes no responsibility for the provision or availability of motorized transport. Requirements must be organised directly with the clubs concerned.

8) Mobile phones may be carried on the courses, but should be switched off or in silent mode. They may be used in the case of an emergency. Their use outside these parameters by a competitor or their caddy is prohibited.

9) Measuring devices may be used to measure distance only.

10) Competitors must comply with the host club’s dress rules.

11) Competitors may win only one major prize for the 3-day Championship and in each daily event. Depending on numbers of male registrations prizes may be awarded in various age divisions for Men only

12) A designated “card return area” with a “card return box” will operate at each course. Once a player deposits his/her card in the box the card is considered returned.
