Braidwood Golf Club took out the 2017 senior masters handicap. They defeated Murrumbidgee winning convincingly 6 & 1 at Gold Creek. The individual match results were:

  • Michael Toirkens (H/C 8) defeated Phil Smith (H/C 6) – 5 and 4
  • Brendan Booker (H/C 11) defeated Rod Miller (H/C 8) – 3 and 2
  • Keith Morgan (H/C 16) defeated Bruce Wright (H/C 9) – 6 and 5
  • Phil O’Toole (H/C 16) defeated Mick Styles (H/C 10) – 2 and 1
  • David Jones (H/C 21) lost to Wayne Flaherty (H/C 11) – 20th hole
  • Rodney Royds (H/C) 22 defeated Raj Pratap (H/C 15) – 7 and 6
  • Rick Towers (H/C 24) defeated Des Desfontaines (H/C 21) – 21st hole.

In the semi-finals played at Gungahlin Lakes, Yass lost to Murrumbidgee 4 & 3 while Capital lost to Braidwood 5 & 2.

The 2017 Masters Handicap Pennants was played in two divisions.

Division 1 comprised Belconnen Magpies (1), Braidwood, Fairbairn, Gold Creek, Gungahlin Lakes, Royal Canberra, Yass and Yowani (1). Division 2 comprised Belconnen Magpies (2), Capital, Federal, Murrumbidgee, Queanbeyan, RMC and Yowani (2).
