Wow – what a round!! Two 6-0 results and one drawn match, with a lot of jostling on the leaderboard.
Competition leaders Gungahlin were hammered mercilessly by Yowani2 who won 6-0, yet Lakes still hold top spot due to the way the other results panned out. While all the Yowani boys played well, David Bink at 1 was one over off the stick with some excellent golf to win 5-4.
Before today’s matchup, Queanbeyan were second on the ladder, however, they also got belted 6-0 by Federal who last week were second last. This week’s win sees Queanbeyan move to third while Federal remain in position 6.
Cooma/Coolamatong had a hard fought 3-3 draw with Fairbairn, which (due to the Lakes and Queanbeyan pantsing) sees them jump up a spot to number 2 on the ladder. Two rounds to go and there are only 2 points separating Lakes at 1 and sixth placed Federal. It’s going to be a real nail biter for the run home; especially with Co/Co and Lakes having a bye each in the remaining two weeks.
