After two rounds in A Grade pennants, Federal Golf Club is the only side with two wins on an overall score of 10.5 to 1.5. They had an impressive 5.5 to 0.5 win over Murrumbidgee in Round 2 and lead from Yowani and Queanbeyan on 3 points each.
In the Gungahlin Lakes versus Goulburn match, Paul Kringas reports that “this was a close match for most of the day with Goulburn running out 4/2 winners. Ross McLoughlin and Dave McGibbon continued their consistent form to record wins while young new recruit, James Hynes, playing at number 6, started well to go to a 3 up lead early on with a superb short game display. However, he began to falter on the back nine to lose by the slender margin, 3/2. By all accounts this was an impressive debut into A Grade for James who clearly has a bright future playing Pennants. Nathan Willett, once again staged a comeback to be dormie on the 18th, only to lose to Scott Nolan who sank a lengthy birdie putt.”
