Monday signified the commencement of the 2021 Australian Junior Amateur Championships, being played in Canberra for the very first time and hosted by Gold Creek Country Club.
The event is a Golf Australia National Junior Order of Merit and World Amateur Golf Ranking event and as such a particularly strong field of 78 boys and 78 girls will contest the event playing on the same course at the same time – another first for this event!
The event is played over 72 holes of stroke play with a cut being made after 54 holes, where the top 39 boys and 39 girls (plus ties) will compete in the final round for the championship.
On behalf of the ACT-Monaro District Golf Association, we extend a very warm welcome to Canberra for all players, their families and friends. We hope you have most enjoyable stay in the nation’s capital and hopefully you will have the opportunity to enjoy some of our other sights while you are here.
Spectators are most welcome and entry is free. Normal COVID social distancing requirements apply.
Best wishes to all golfers for the coming tournament.
